When: Monday, 19th February 2018
Where: Room T/5, 3rd floor, MET, Opposite Lilavati Hospital, Bandra Reclamation
Topic: Developing GenFlux Leaders – coaching case studies
Presenter: Luis Moniz
All of us recognize that we are in a world where disruption is the norm and as coaches we constantly need to adapt our coaching techniques, tools and frameworks to be better aligned with the needs of our coachees. E.g., the goal setting exercise at the start of a coaching engagement may lose its relevance within a few sessions because of significant changes in priorities for our coachees, due to unforeseen developments. Many of us have faced a situation where even the actions that a coachee was keen to execute at the end of a session become completely redundant because of a disruptive work situation that arose shortly after the session. Therefore, we may no longer find the GROW model to be an effective technique for our coaching and may instead focus each session on what is most important for our coachee at that time.
Coaching in Disruptive Times
Peter Drucker very wisely said “The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday's logic”. Many of our clients struggle to sustain their professional success because they continue to deploy strategies that were effective in the past but that now need to change. They need to understand what the current career paradigm looks like and to then change their mind-sets and modify their strategies to those that are more likely to lead to professional success. Luis Moniz will be speaking on “Developing GenFlux Leaders” where he will introduce the concept of GenFlux, share a new definition for VUCA and outline what professional success looks like in the current paradigm. During his presentation, he will discuss several coaching case studies, share some of his coaching techniques, as well as cite a few stories from GenFlux leaders who he interviewed for his book Uncornered.
Share Your Stories
After Luis’ presentation, we would love to have attendees share their stories of coaching GenFlux leaders as well as coaching tools and techniques they now use differently.
